Fun Monday for 6/25/07

Fun Monday is being hosted by Swampwitch this week. Here is Swampy's blog, if you'd like to participate : http://anecdotes.typepad.com/anecdotes_antidotes_and_a/

This is what Swamwitch asked for....

"So, Fun Monday's challenge for June 25 is to post pictures of your bookshelves or stacks of books. Hopefully, we will be able to read some of the titles. If you want, while you're at it, post pictures of ANY shelves...shelves with toys, dishes, collections, Aunt Gertrude's ashes in an urn, etc. Also, post pictures of your garage, carport, or places where you store 'stuff.' (No fair cleaning first, but if you must, maybe this will be the motivation to do so.)"

I'm lazy, so I've just included pictures of my books on their shelves.

My first set of shelves and books are my favorite. The shelf was built by my Daddy-Bob and hold all my cookbooks (yes, I LOVE to cook!) This shelf is located to the left of my kitchen counter, in the far right corner of my dining room. I have vegetarian cookbooks, Better Homes and Gardens cookbooks, retro cookbooks and The New Basic Cookbook. I Love to cook in my tiny kitchen!

This next picture is of the second shelf down on this shelf. I have some paperbacks, a candle, a pen jar and a book about the Louvre. My sister and her hubby got this for me on their honeymoon because I love art. YAY!

Now we have my bibles and devotionals. They are located on the top shelf. Bibles, devotions, journals and an angel "music box" my mom gave to me when I was little.

An full shot of my favorite shelf:

Now we head into the tiny "office" I have connected to our bedroom. It should be regarded as another closet. I sometimes sit in here and read, but it is a converted porch and isn't insulated. It has shelves so I stuck some of our books in here. Sci-Fi, adventure, various comics, devotionals, classics, you name it!

Anyway, here are some of the books we own. We have lots more, but they're stuck in closets and I don't feel like looking for them. Besides, they're not on shelves, any way.

Thanks, Swapwitch, for this week's FUN MONDAY photo challenge!

Next week's challenge I found out from my blogging buddy @

"A Spot Of T": http://www.aspotoft.typepad.com/

"I hear next week's Fun Monday....July 2.....is being hosted by Jenni at Prairie Air so visit her to see what's in store for next week."

Thanks, ladies! FUN MONDAY was "fun" this week!

I couldn't read your cookbook titles and I read you are a veggie. I have a few veggie books and the spines look similar. I just haven't had any luck keeping everyone in my house off the chicken and seafood. My boys love chicken. And hubby worries about his protein for his muscles!! :-) Anyhoo, thanks for dropping by on Fun Monday.

I noticed that someone is a bit of a Tolkien fan, I've read LOTR four times, the first time was when I was 17.

You're very organised. I forgot to show my cookbooks which is just as well because they are in piles all over the dining room floor.

interesting that you had a little knick knack with each set (and banana's on one of those things like my daughter has and loves)

Its nice that your shelves were made by your dad. Mine were too.

I'm going to go back up the the Tuscan Tomatoes recipe - that looks yummy. Happy Monday!
