Yesterday, as you know, was Mother's Day. Mike and I went down to where we grew up (Highland Home) and visited our moms, my grandmom and my aunt (my mom's sister).
After visiting my parent's church, where Mike's brother, Parker, is a pastor, BTW, Gea-Mom, Bob, Mike and I went to a Mexican restaurant in Greenville. It's what Gea-Mom wanted for lunch, plus the guacamole was "yum yum times"! (Don't even ASK what that means...who knows?)
We then went back to my parent's house and visited with Candice and Steven (he just had 4 wisdom teeth cut out...but seems to be doing well, thank God!) Momma racked up with a loot of: 2 journals, a pack of gel pens, 30 blank note cards, a sleepy-time outfit, a picture of a young William Shatner (who Gea-Mom adored as a child), a garden statue, a 50 dollar gift certificate for Eastdale Mall and a carnation plant. Plus Mother's Day cards, of course! What a haul!
After we "honored" my Gea-Mom, we all went over to my Grandparent's house and visited with them. Grandmoma was also given some gifts. She received a tabletop fountain, a relaxing sounds CD, a plastic back scratcher, a book, a rubber plant, a blue hat, a religious hymns CD, some Gardenia body gel/lotion, some silk "daisys" (her name is Daisy), a Shark(r) (a motorized sweeper) and some beautiful cards. I think she was very happy and excited to see us. I think PawPaw was, too!
We also got to see my Aunt Cathy & Uncle Sam. Aunt Cathy wasn't feeling well. Her allergies have been giving her fits. But, it as still nice to see them. I miss my Aunt Cathy so much. She's my "other mother". She so full of life and a "trip" to be with. I love her lotses!
After visiting with my family, we went to Mike's mom's house. All of Mike's siblings were there (Jerry, Parker & Cindy) as well as Jacob, Parker and Tanja's grandson (Jason & Heather's little boy). He was fascinated with Mom's hair, but wasn't feeling well. He was fussy because he missed his nap. We got the standard pics with Mom yesterday, (Mom & her children) like we do at EVERY family gathering.
I'm not exactly sure what Mom got yesterday, but Mike and I got her a garden plaque, a maroon plant, a plastic -weaved basket and a card. We'll also will be replacing two of her windows, fixing her kitchen sink and re-running her water lines. That's what she said she wanted for Mother's Day....go figure!
Here a few pics of Mom's flowers and her dog, Candy.
We had a wonderful time visiting, eating, snapping pics, you name it! It makes me want to move closer home, even more!
OH! AND be a mommy, but EVERYONE knows that, right?

Hi! I found my way over here from Question of the Day. I really like this post, it's so nice to see moms enjoying Mother's Day! And I like that giant card, I've always wanted to buy one of those just for the heck of it. But the best is grandpa with the hat. Awesome!
