What do you remember about your first day of school?
I can barely remember when I began 4-year-old Kindergarten. It was held at the church we attended while in Tuscaloosa, AL. All I remember is how I had my very own "desk" and how my Momma had bought me a "special box" filled with crayons, glue, tiny scissors and blue, red and green"HUSKY" pencils. I also remember not wanting Momma (and my baby sister, Candice) to leave me there, but I was so involved in playing with the Play-Doh(R) that they slipped out while I was busy. (sneaky Momma!) I rather enjoyed school, because, everything I brought home ended up hanging on the fridge. (a place of HONOR in our house.)
Have you ever attended a high school or college reunion? What was it like? In October, I attended my 10-year highschool reunion. It was really quite a joke. We all ate barbequed chicken (I'm a vegetarian... I've been one since 9th grade!!) right before the "Homecoming" football game. Everyone gravitated toward the "cliques" we had in High School, except me. There were 70-75 Seniors in my class in 1997. Only 15-20 of us showed up for the "Reunion". At the game, lots of them sat together to watch the game, but, Mike(my hubby) and I sat with our families instead. I never "fit in" in high school and sadly, I still don't. Who cares, anyway? I'm happily married to my best friend (Mike). I've kept in touch with my bff (Monica) and everyone I've wanted to keep in touch with, I have, so all those others can "kiss my GRITS!"
Do you keep in regular contact with anyone from high school and/or college? As I mentioned in the previous post, I have kept in contact with the people I have wanted to, throughout the past ten years. If I see a former classmate somewhere, if I feel like speaking, I do, if not, I don't. The people I care anything about keeping in touch with, I have and do. All the others have always made me feel "inadequate". I had to put up with that when I was forced to (in school). Now, I just don't feel like I should have to "compete" with the people I used to. It was such an awkward time, anyway. Been there, done that, don't want to go back!

I enjoyed reading your answers, esp about your high school reunion.
