Mike and I saw "Lady in the Water" yesterday. I REALLY enjoyed it. It is a bedtime story, acted out with real-life characters. Mike said it was "unbelievable", but that's what I liked most about it. It was a fantasy (like a child's imagination) acted out in "real life".
I thought it was very "artsie", funny and heart-warming all wrapped into one. Sure, M. Night was a little arrogant, casting himself as "the writer who influences a young man's ideas", but I really enjoyed Bryce Dallas Howard, Paul Giamanti and the other talented actors who brought this "bedtime" story to life.
I recommend, but DO NOT expect it to be a "twist ending" movie like his others (which I enjoyed, as well.)
Cheers!
